FAQs
1. How are Thin Steel Blades so sharp?
Evolution Thin Steel Blades are made to an impeccably high standard, the likes of which professional tradesmen rely on every day. These blades are tungsten carbide-tipped for exceptional durability and smooth cutting when moving through steel at speed, offering the most precise cuts that would impress even the most judgemental of clients. If you’d like to know about our blades and how they are made before you buy, get in touch with an Evolution Power Tools expert today.
2. Do Evolution Thin Steel Blades work better on sheet metal than other blades?
Yes, Evolution's Thin Steel Blades are specifically designed to cut through sheet metal better than other blades and many important design choices in the blades are a testament to this. For example, the alternating top-bevel tooth profile slices through sheet metal without leaving the dimple or zipping pattern that you can see when using standard metal blades. The number of teeth per inch running along the edge of the blade are selected to work optimally with the Hi-torque motors in our tools to give the smoothest cut in thin materials. While you can cut thin sheet metals with standard metal blades you will get a crisper, sharper cut and much longer blade life when using our Thin Steel blades; these blades are designed with custom tooth profiling, rake, angle, draft, tooth count and gutter shaping specifically for the task of processing high volumes of sheet material. We aren't currently aware of another brand that makes a specific TCT blade optimised for cutting sheet metal.
3. Which power tools do Evolution Thin Steel Blades pair with?
We have several brilliant power tools you could use alongside our Thin Steel Blades to give you the best steel cutting experience. Our circular saws, for example, offer a freehand alternative to some of the more restrictive tools on the market and help you glide through thin steel in any length and shape as dictated by you. Alternatively, we also have stationary chop saws and mitre saws, both of which offer their own advantages. If you need to check which tool your chosen blade matches with before you make a purchase, just reach out to us - we’d be happy to advise.
4. Do I need more than one Thin Steel Blade?
Technically, you don’t need more than one - unless you’ve got more than one tool - but having extra blades always helps if one of them suddenly dulls or warps. That way, you won’t lose any time or productivity if something like this should occur - you can simply swap the blade (carefully, of course) and continue without delay. If you’re planning on doing a lot of cutting, our popular Blade Subscription Service could be of interest.
