Reciprocating Saw Blades
Reciprocating saw blades for wood, metal and demolition
The correct reciprocating saw blade helps you cut faster, maintain control and achieve better results across different materials. Evolution blade packs give you a practical choice for construction, demolition, renovation, gardening and everyday DIY work.
Multi-material reciprocating saw blades
Choose the multi-material blade pack when you need to cut different materials without constantly changing blades. It contains a thin-steel blade for cutting sheet metal and mild steel, plus a multi-material blade for aluminium, non-ferrous metals, plastic and timber containing embedded nails.
Both blades feature flexible, shatter-resistant bi-metal construction, making them suitable for demolition and cutting in confined or awkward areas.
Wood-cutting reciprocating saw blades
The wood-cutting pack contains two blades designed for different applications. Use the green-wood blade for pruning, garden clearance, freshly cut branches and firewood. Choose the general wood blade for fast, controlled cuts through seasoned timber and other everyday wood-cutting jobs.
Universal reciprocating saw blade fitment
Evolution reciprocating saw blades use the standard universal fitment pattern. They are compatible with Evolution reciprocating saws and most reciprocating saws from other manufacturers.
Always choose a blade designed for the material being cut and ensure its length is suitable for the thickness of the workpiece.

FAQs
1. Are reciprocating saw blades universal?
Most reciprocating saws - including Evolutions - use a universal fitment shank. This shank is compatible with all major brands including Bosch, DeWalt, Makita and Milwaukee.
While blade fitting is often universal, you still need to select the right kind of blade depending on the type of material you are cutting.
At Evolution we sell 2 blade packs:
Our Evolution Wood Cutting Reciprocating Saw Blades (x2) features one green wood blade, ideal for pruning and cutting both green and fuel wood, and one general wood blade with a 4mm tooth diameter for fast and smooth cuts.
Our Evolution Multi-Material Cutting Reciprocating Saw Blades (x2) contains one high-tooth-count, thin steel blade, ideal for cutting sheet and mild steel as well as harder non-ferrous metals, plus a 2nd deeper tooth blade optimised for ripping through aluminium, plastics and other softer materials.
2. Which reciprocating saw blade should I use for wood?
Use a general wood blade for seasoned timber and everyday wood cutting. A green-wood blade is better suited to pruning, freshly cut branches and garden clearance.
3. What is the difference between green wood and seasoned wood?
Green wood contains more moisture because it has been recently cut. A green-wood blade has an aggressive tooth design that clears material quickly when pruning branches and cutting fresh timber.
4. Can reciprocating saw blades cut through wood with nails?
Yes. Evolution’s multi-material reciprocating saw blade can cut timber containing embedded nails, making it suitable for demolition and renovation work.
5. Which reciprocating saw blade should I use for metal?
Use the supplied thin-steel blade for sheet steel and mild steel. The multi-material blade is suitable for aluminium, non-ferrous metals and mixed-material cutting.
6. What is a bi-metal reciprocating saw blade?
A bi-metal blade combines a flexible blade body with durable cutting teeth. This construction allows the blade to flex under pressure while resisting shattering and tooth damage.
