FAQs
1. What is the best way to extend the lifespan of my metal-cutting blades?
Metal blades are an investment, and letting the tool do the work is the golden rule for making them last.
Avoid excessive force: Pushing down too hard creates friction, dulls TCT teeth, and wears them down prematurely. Apply firm, steady pressure.
Clamp securely: If the metal moves or vibrates mid-cut, it can instantly chip the teeth on a TCT blade. Always use the saw’s built-in vice.
Match the material: Ensure your blade is rated for the specific thickness and type of metal you are cutting. Evolution have a range of blades suited to different metal types:
- Mild Steel
- Stainless Steel
- Aluminium
- Thin Steel
Use the right tool: Evolution's metal cutting chop saws run at a lower RPM than many saws. Our blades are designed to be used with Evolution saws. Using the blade with incompatible tools can lead to poor performance, premature wear and potential injury.
It is essential that the blade is fitted to a saw which uses the correct bore size, blade size and blade rpm.
