Description

Step up from an angle grinder with the Evolution R150DCT-SE 150mm Electric Disc Cutter. Purpose-built for cutting paving and masonry, its dedicated two-handed design offers improved control, balance and working posture compared with using a grinder adapted with a masonry blade.

The powerful 1600W motor and 150mm blade provide a maximum cutting depth of 53mm, allowing common paving slabs to be cut in a single pass. Its belt-drive system separates the motor from the blade, improving weight distribution and balance while helping reduce vibration for smoother, more controlled cutting. While the wheeled metal skid plate supports the cutter and guides it smoothly across the material for straighter, more accurate results.

Soft-start technology provides a smooth, controlled start, while the electronic blade brake quickly stops the blade after the trigger is released. A built-in 25mm extraction port also allows connection to a suitable M-class dust extractor to help control airborne dust while cutting.

Supplied with an Evolution Essential Segmented Diamond Blade for cutting concrete, brick, paving and other common masonry materials, the R150DCT-SE is a compact, practical choice for landscaping and renovation projects.

Blade and material guidance

The included 150mm Essential Segmented Diamond Blade is suitable for everyday cutting through concrete, brick, paving slabs and other common masonry materials.

The R150DCT-SE can also cut porcelain when fitted with the appropriate specialist diamond blade. For the best performance, water will need to be applied separately to the cut using a suitable external water supply.

For frequent porcelain cutting or integrated dust control, consider the R150DCT-PRO, which includes dual-sided water suppression and an upgraded Endurance Diamond Blade.

The R150DCT-SE is available exclusively from Screwfix and cannot be purchased directly from Evolution.

Trade-up options

Choose the R150DCT for the same 1600W cutting performance with additional operator features, including an active load indicator, rubber overmould grip and integrated rafter hook.

Choose the R150DCT-PRO for integrated dual-sided water suppression, an Endurance Diamond Blade and a longer 3.5m power cable. It is the strongest choice for frequent porcelain cutting and applications where controlling dust at source is a priority.

Features

  • Purpose-built disc cutter: Designed specifically for cutting paving and masonry, providing better balance, control and cutting posture than an angle grinder adapted for the task.

  • 1600W high-torque motor: Delivers consistent mains-powered performance without fuel, battery charging or petrol-engine maintenance.

  • 53mm maximum cutting depth: Cuts through common paving slabs in a single pass, reducing the need to turn the material over and complete the cut from both sides.

  • Wheeled metal skid plate: Supports the machine and guides it smoothly across the workpiece, helping you maintain a straight, accurate cut while protecting the underside of the tool.

  • Belt-drive system: Moves weight away from the front of the machine and helps reduce vibration for smoother, more balanced cutting.

  • Soft-start technology: Gradually increases the motor speed to reduce the initial torque reaction when the cutter starts.

  • Electronic blade brake: Rapidly stops the rotating blade after the trigger is released.

  • 25mm dust-extraction port: Connects to a suitable M-class dust extractor to help reduce airborne dust at source.

  • Protected internal components: Sealed electronics, protected air intakes, high-airflow cooling and drainage channels help protect the machine in demanding cutting conditions.

  • Onboard hex-key storage: Keeps the supplied blade-changing tool conveniently stored on the machine.

  • Three-year warranty: Covered by Evolution’s three-year limited warranty for additional peace of mind.

All Evolution DCT models come equipped with our new Power Protect Technology to conquer the most demanding jobs and cut for years to come.

Double insulated motor coil protects the motor from dust ingress and vastly improves motor life. Features a robust powder coating for complete protection.
Unique aerodynamic fan system increases airflow through the motor for better cooling during heavy duty use and expels dust.
Specially designed air vents prevent water and other debris from entering the motor housing to make it safe for use in all conditions.
Built in drainage holes allow any water to escape from inside the machine body and prevents damage to internal parts.
