At Evolution, we’ve never been content to follow the pack. We created the R260DCT-Li cordless disc cutter to solve a real-world problem we saw on job sites every day: tradespeople were stuck choosing between the raw power but significant constraints of petrol saws and the limited convenience of underperforming cordless tools.
Our mission was clear: build a cordless disc cutter that doesn’t compromise on power, runtime, or cut performance. A machine that proves once and for all that battery power is not just a convenient alternative, but a better one.
That challenge landed on the desks of our product development team in Sheffield UK, home to steel, grit, and our UK HQ. Drawing on years of experience in designing and manufacturing high-performance electric cutting tools, they set out to create a saw that could outperform petrol models and the cordless competition.
Their ambition? To create a next-generation tool that delivers:

After years of development and testing, the result was the R260DCT-Li, a professional-grade cordless disc cutter built for modern tradespeople, and engineered to raise expectations of what a battery-powered tool can achieve.
We already knew we had a winning formula before the first unit even hit the shelves. At our internal Disc Cutter Demo Day, the R260DCT-Li went head-to-head with the biggest names in the industry in the hands of professional tradespeople, landscapers, bricklayers, and some of the UK’s top construction influencers. The reaction was emphatic. From its power and cutting speed to its ergonomics and dust control, the feedback was clear: this tool didn’t just meet expectations - it smashed them. It confirmed what our design team believed all along: the R260DCT-Li had the performance and build quality to take on the market leaders—and win.

In May 2025, the R260DCT-Li earned the Editor’s Choice Award from the respected DIY Week magazine, one of the UK’s most influential voices in the DIY, hardware and garden centre industry. We were also Highly Commended in the Power Tool of the Year category, cementing our place among the very best.

Head-to-Head: We Beat the Rest
In June 2025, the R260DCT-Li was put to the test by one of the most respected voices in professional tool reviews: Rob Robillard, founder of A Concord Carpenter and co-host of ToolboxBuzz. Between them, Rob’s channels have built a loyal following among contractors, tradespeople, and tool enthusiasts. His YouTube channel alone has over 290,000 subscribers, with more than 73 million video views, making him one of the most trusted reviewers in the construction and renovation space.
In his in-depth comparison, Rob and his team tested eight of the most popular cordless 9" and 10" disc cutters on the market to determine which one truly performed best under pressure.
The results? Evolution came out on top.
Overall Winner – The R260DCT-Li scored a category-best 11 points (lower is better), finishing 16 points ahead of the next-best saw, and a full 42 points better than the lowest-ranked competitor.
We ranked 1st in:
